This Privacy Policy describes how the Device Preview Chrome extension (“Extension,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you use it.
1. Overview
Device Preview helps you preview websites inside realistic iPhone frames with accurate CSS viewports. The Extension is designed to be lightweight and does not require an account or a backend database for its core functionality.
2. Information we collect
We do not collect personal information such as:
- Name, email address, or account credentials
- Payment information
- Browsing history sold to third parties
- Analytics profiles stored on our servers
The Extension may store a small amount of data locally on your device to remember your preferences, for example:
- Selected device model
- Zoom / scale settings
- Display options (status bar / browser chrome preferences)
- Last preview URL you entered (if you choose to use that feature)
This preference data stays in Chrome local storage / extension storage on your computer and is not uploaded to our servers.
3. How the Extension works with websites
When you preview a website, the Extension loads that website so you can see it at a selected device viewport. To improve embedding for some sites, the Extension may adjust frame-related response headers for preview subframes.
Content that appears in the preview belongs to the websites you choose to open. Those websites have their own privacy policies and may set their own cookies or collect data independently of Device Preview.
4. Permissions
Chrome may show permission prompts so the Extension can:
- Open a preview tab and read the active page URL when needed
- Store your device/display preferences locally
- Load websites in the preview environment
- Apply limited network rules that help some sites display inside the preview frame
These permissions are used only to provide Device Preview features, not to sell or monetize your personal data.
5. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Because core Device Preview functionality runs locally in your browser, we do not operate a mandatory cloud service that receives your browsing content for the basic preview experience.
6. Third-party websites
When you preview a third-party website, that site may process data under its own terms. Device Preview is not responsible for the privacy practices of websites you choose to load.
7. Children’s privacy
The Extension is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the Extension after an update means you accept the revised policy.
